            Rhode Island law prohibits the formation of any society, secret or otherwise, in the public 
            schools, in which membership is not open to all the students of the school.  However, the law 
            exempts clubs and organizations formed and conducted exclusively for the purposes of 
            promoting approved school activities and subject to supervision by faculty under School 
            Committee policy.
