78 CLASSROOM DISCIPLINE SYSTEM
How it Works: Each student will begin the week with a fresh start. Behavior will be tracked using a
behavior tracking app ( Class Dojo ). The goal of this program is to protect the integrity of the learning
environment while teaching students to be responsible and accountable for their own actions.
Students will receive verbal, nonverbal, and visual corrections to monitor and adjust their behavior, as
well as praise for exhibiting positive behaviors. Clear guidelines of rules and expectations have been
provided for the students in writing to create opportunities for sucess. Behavior selftracking sheets
will be provided for students to visually track positive and negative DOJO points.
Parent Communication and Documentation: Students will be given behavior selftracking sheets to
document all positive and negative points at the beginning of each month. Behavior records will also
be available through Class DOJO. Parents will be invited to view after the 1st Quarter Interim.
Recorded behaviors will serve as a reminder to students to help them recognize the behavior that is
occurring within the classroom and offer a brief moment of reflection on how to prevent incidents from
occurring again. Behavior will be documented in order to determine a weekly conduct grade. The
conduct grade will be posted in OptionC along with other weekly academic grades using the conduct
codes E, G, S, N, and U. All feedback and documentation will be kept private between the student
and the teacher and the parent.
Conduct Grades: Conduct grades will be figured using a rubric based on the frequency and severity
of student behavior during a given week. Weekly conduct grades will be averaged to determine the
quarter conduct grade.
Positive Consequences : Students will consistently be praised for positive behaviors and meeting
behavioral goals and expectations. Praise will be both verbal and written using Crowned with Prides .

7 and 8 Grade will also have an opportunity to earn privilages through positive DOJO points using.
These points will be acuumulated for shopping where students can purchase such as seat passes,
homework passes, eselevator pass, etc. Whole class positive behaviors will be recognized using our
Classroom Respect and Responsibility BINGO chart.
Negative Consequences : This discipline plan serves to impose logical consequences for student
behavior in the classroom. Logical consequences hold students accountable for their choices, as well
as define the path towards kind and respectful behavior. Consequences are subject to change, as
teachers may adjust consequences based on behavioral patterns. See list of consequences below.
NOTE: The administration reserves the right to speak with any student to gain perspective into a
behavior situation whether the student was directly involved or served as a witness.

Students are responsible for their behavioral choices. In choosing a behavior, each student is
also choosing the positive or negative behavior associated with that choice.
Explanation of Negative Consequences
▪ Logical Consequence: Student will correct behavior and/or make restitution for behavior choice. Examples
include: cleaning up mess made etc.
▪ Conference with Teacher: Student will participate in a problem solving conference with the teacher to
resolve issue in the classroom. This conference will take place during recess unless otherwise stated by the
teacher.
▪ Behavior Reflection Sheet : Student will complete a reflection sheet after conferencing with the teacher to
reflect on how to prevent behaviors and exhibit positive behaviors. This will be sent home and signed by
parent.
▪ Phone Call Home : Student will call parents to communicate the behavior incidents that have occurred for that
day; a teacher will supervise the phone call.
▪ Referred to Administrator: Student will meet with Mrs. Woodman to discuss behavior and plan for
improvement. This meeting will be documented with a conduct referral which is simply communication that the
student discussed his or her behavior with an administrator. Consequences for referral will be determined by
teacher and/or administrator.
Explanation of Postitive Consequences
We are excited to see our students making good choices in the classroom. Students who meet behavior
expectations and learning goals will be rewarded for their positive choices. Using the positive consequences,
students can earn privileges such as homework pass, pick your seat pass etc. See a complete list below of
privileges and prices.

Study Hall Pass during recess 5 punches
Reduced Assignment (½ problems) 7 punches
Elevator Pass (one way trip) 10 punches
Coke Pass 10 punches
Homework Pass 15 punches
Pick your seat for day (with teacher permission) 15 punches
Add 5 points to Test/Quiz 15 punches
Out of Uniform Pass 20 punches
Additional privilages may be added at teacher discretion.
A punch card system will be used to track positive DOJO points. For every week a student receives an E
in conduct they will get 1 punch. For every 10 positive points a student receives during a given week,
they will receive an additional punch.
