Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze volume 1 to 4 of the national textbooks , a Korean language education textbook that marriage immigrants
learned through 217 multicultural family support centers nationwide, and provide basic data to
develop textbooks that do not exclude or discriminate women. To achieve this, the research
question of "How are female immigrants represented in the ?" was set. The research question was then analyzed based on the gender
discrimination assessment standard introduced in Critical Discourse Analysis and specifically by
Sadker & Sadker's teaching materials for textbooks and curriculum which are a total of seven
categories. In addition, one more category was added to the analysis due to textbooks that revealed
the deficiencies of female marriage immigrants which is a category I added and becomes my
originality. It reveals female marriage immigrants portrayed as women being poor or lacking in
various aspects such as language, cultural knowledge, education, economic level and more.
